Just short of donning scuba gear or putting on camo and sitting real still for hours, canoeing might just be one of the best ways to get really intimate with the great outdoors. In this short teaser, outdoors producer Clint Pollock and you canoe through the largest intact old growth flood plain forest; Congaree National Park’s Cedar Creek, just twenty minutes from Columbia, SC.

From a canoe, one gets face to face and within a hand’s reach of wildlife, cypress trees, primeval forests and the teeming waters of the protected old growth flood plain forest. Paddle alongside Clint as the sun dappled leaves flutter light through the tall canopy of the ancient giants.

Without getting wet, there is no better way to see Congaree.
